Uncle Kevin Jack Wood

My uncle, Kevin Jack Wood, passed away from cancer recently. Fortunately, all of his five children and their families were able to visit and be with him beforehand. For Father's Day, he got to take pictures with each of his kids. His wife, Aunt Brenda, has definitely taken on the role of matriarch in both the Wood and the Johnson families (since Grandma Johnson passed away), and does everything she can to help others. Hopefully soon she'll start taking some time for herself, too.

Kevin loved his family very much. During the services, his brother mentioned that their dad had passed away when Kevin was young, and he had always wondered about him. His brother was glad that at least now Kevin would have a chance to get to know his parents again. 

Ryan and Brittney

Last month my cousin Ryan married his sweetheart, Brittney. Because some of his siblings are involved in the military, it's a rare occasion when they can all get together. I even got to see Ryan's sister and her kids, who are only able to visit once or twice a year. Since Grandma passed away, I haven't gotten together with this side of the family as often, so Ryan's and Brittney's celebration was a happy occurrence.
