Spring Adventures 2017

We've been having our friend, Mr H, over to watch once or twice a week lately, and he is so sweet. Some days we try to be adventurous, and other days we just stay inside to play.

One of the families in our apartment complex organized everything to get an official sandbox last year, since the kids used to go dig in the dirt in that corner anyway. It's especially nice when there's a little moisture in the sand, so our sandcastles will hold their shapes. Mostly, we just like to dig, though.

One day our library had a community fair, which turned out to be a business/organization booth fair, but we got some swag, face paintings, and time with some clay, so we had fun. We also learned about the 3-D printer the library lets patrons use, and got to see it work on some latticed plastic toys. I learned about the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program, so we've got a late start tracking the books for Miss V, but are right on track for Mr C.

At the parks, I worry less about Miss V now that she has some fear and some courage, and more about Mr C, who has not quite gained the former. I must say, springtime it a wonderful outdoors time of year.

Let's Go Fly a Kite

From the mystical slightly-cracked Winnie the Pooh cookie jar, we drew from the list of family activities, "Fly Kites." At the dollar store we found Miss Barbie and Mr Raphael Ninja Turtle. Since we have houses and trees around our place, we walked down the street to a church with a big grassy field. For the first while we had some good breezes, but slowly the the wind died. It had been long enough for me that I had to relearn how to properly launch the kite. I think the kids had an enjoyable "first."

Stomp Rockets

For our quarterly Hooper birthday party, we met at Aunt Susan's and Uncle Rob's house, and some of the cousins enjoyed stomping on the favorite toy of the day, stomp rockets. We love being able to play outside again without five layers!
My brother, Aaron, who was visiting inside, also informed me that he stayed awake the entire party. Personal best!

Pi Day 2017

We bought Aunt Marie's Turtle Pie and Miss V and I made a banana creme pudding pie. We celebrated at Grandma and Grandpa Hooper's house, which clearly Mr C thoroughly enjoyed. Grandpa pointed out that his dad, Calvin Muir Hooper would be celebrating his 92nd birthday (alongside Mr. Einstein's posthumous party).

Miss V, how was the party in your tummy?

Overalls

This morning I put Mr C in his overalls, and Miss V wanted to match. It's finally getting warm enough for the snow to melt and for us to use our porch swing!

Johnson Meet-Up

Sleeping before baby comes is always a
good idea.
We haven't been able to visit Mom's side of the family for a bit, so we arranged with cousin Jenny and the Aunts to meet up and play. The kids ran throughout the house, and the adults ate and talked. Cousin Jason even showed Mr C the horses on the property. We're excited for Baby Witte!

Mr C climbs now, and kept challenging Daddy to foosball. They make a darling pair.

Toddler Emotions

I wouldn't give him my tablet. Then I let him touch the tablet. Two-second emotions.
