Rütli Meadow

One of the most beautiful place Zak and I saw while with the study abroad group in Switzerland was Rütli Meadow.  The water of Lake Lucerne/Vierwaldstättersee glimmers a gorgeous emerald green on the boat ride to Rütliwiese. 





Rütliwiese, or Rütli Meadow, is recognized as its the birthplace of the the Switzerland.  "The Rütli is connected for all Swiss citizens with the founding history of Switzerland.  For some it is nourished by the impressive drama 'Wilhelm Tell' by Friedrich Schiller, the historic place where the federal government in 1291 was summoned to the Confederates. For others it is a meaningless field. In between there are lots of ideas."  http://www.ruetli.ch/de/


We went as a special 10-year anniversary of Utah State University's Design Thinking for Innovation program.  The people who made the program possible from the beginning travelled to be with us.  As part of our own new beginning, we burned papers of our negative traits we wished to release, and let balloons with our dreams for the future float into the sky.


While the commemorative activities were helpful, the amazing water and landscape were inspiring.
