Ultrasound at 20 Weeks

3D image from the front
Husband took an extended lunch break so we could go together to see the new baby in the ultrasound. Miss V loved being at a doctor's office, where she wanted to explore, but didn't have to be examined this time. Everything looked normal and healthy, and unlike Miss V, whose legs were crossed half of her ultrasound, this made his sex clearly known. We are having a son! He's been moving quite a bit (still too small to feel on the outside), and the ultrasound tech caught him moving his legs in a little run. I'm guessing he and Miss V will keep each other on their feet.

Baby kept his dukes up most of the time. The ultrasound technician had a hard time trying to get a good photo of his face because a tiny hand or an arm kept preventing it.

At this point it seems V has my face and eye shape, and Zak's fair hair, nose, and blue eyes. It'll be exciting to officially meet and see our little man in person when the time comes, which now seems to be coming very quickly.

Anticipating Our Little One

A while ago Zak and I decided when we wanted to start trying for another baby. Fortunately, we learned what my reproductive system needs to get ready for a pregnancy, so I met with the chiropractor for an adjustment and started taking vitamins and supplements again. A couple months ago I got my first positive ovulation test results, and recently we got the miraculous pregnancy test results. Just like with my first pregnancy, it didn't feel real until they verified it at the doctor's office with an ultrasound (although I have had the increased sense of smell and gag reflexes again). We feel so blessed to have another Little One on the way! The due date from the ultrasound was a little different than expected (Baby's already growing quickly, apparently), but we should be welcoming Little One around New Year's. Or before. Or after. Zak is truly an amazing Dad, and we're hoping that Miss V and Baby will love each other and learn to play nicely. Continuing the movie poster theme I used with Miss V's announcement, we went with Poltergeist this time.
